Clay has been my medium of expression for most of my life, offering me the versatility to create everything from life-size figures and large vessels to colorful functional ceramics. I work with both narrative and figurative themes, drawing inspiration from nature, the human form, and personal experiences. My art reflects my responses to social and political issues, while also embracing beauty, form, and the gestural qualities of clay. Since moving to Southeast Connecticut in 2021, and living by the Niantic River, my work has evolved to incorporate elements of sea life, with the human figure often acting as a messenger. I am particularly inspired by the Minoan healing Goddesses—simple, stoic, and powerful. My sculptures embody women’s strength and nurturing energy, often integrating subtle color to enhance their presence. Whether depicting personal reflections, nature's wonders, or the power of women to heal, my work aims to invite viewers to experience the hope and inspiration I feel, fostering a connection to the shared humanity that binds us all.
